Welcome and thanks for reading this June 2010 edition of HYPNOTES.  WOW, it's gotten BUSY here in NZ.  I wish I could say the same for my international markets though.  Seems the recession is persisting everywhere but here! The last two weeks of this month will see me working (if that's what it's called when you enjoy it so much) in 6 different cities, so that's why the HYPNOTES is bright and early this month. See you at the June NZAPH Conference It'll be great to catch up with many old and new friends at the June NZAPH conference.  I think that'll make it more than 10 consecutive annual conferences I've attended now! Can anyone else claim this record or is it mine? :>) Hypnotherapy Courses Late registrations for the June 14-18 Modern Suggestive Hypnotherapy course are still being accepted until June 12th. If you've been thinking about doing this, then there is room for you.  I have a huge number of volunteer clients booked for the free sessions on the Thursday "Clinic Day", so it'll be a VERY full-on and interesting course. The July 19-23 Advanced Hypnotherapy course is now full - as far as registrations go.  So would those of you who are yet to pay and cement your place, please do so at your earliest convenience.  As you are aware, I limit my class sizes, so anyone else wishing to attend the July course please contact me and I'll add you to the standby list.  Otherwise, there is another planned for November. Workshop:  Your Therapeutic Feast
This therapeutic feast is divided into 3 dining delights and aimed to satisfy the hungriest therapist.
Entrée:  Client-Centred Hypnotherapy (CCH).
A tasty morsel blended with your client’s words, gestures and utterings to develop a taste for applying CCH concepts which after all is the main course.
Main Course:  Metaphors
A sumptuous blend of delicacies that stimulate the cognitive and conative taste buds.  This nutritional feast will synthesise your senses and inspire your mind to savour each titbit.
Dessert:  Hypnothetical
Some of you will have the opportunity to take part in this final serving.  Whilst this will be a fun activity it is  full bodied to encompass the flavours decanted from our entrée and main course not so delicately balanced with a touch of simulated role play.  In real life, the culinary zenith of every good meal is often served with a ‘whine’ and the occasional salty tear.  The catharsis of emotional cognition leaves your client feeling satiated if not tired and drained.

Greetings fellow health professionals.  As you may be aware, the New Zealand Hypnotherapy Federation, the umbrella organisation – the Peak Body - for the profession, organises the National Hypnotherapy Conference weekend each year in Auckland. This year is its 16th anniversary. 

Established in 1993, the Federation was responsible for bringing together the various professional associations, which together formed the membership of the budding organisation. Membership was opened in 2003 to other hypnotherapy organisations, and has a current membership of eight organisations; professional associations, training schools and the registration board.  Initially a one day event, the conference was extended in 2004 to include On-going Training Workshops on the Sunday, and extended the conference to a full two day event.  The workshops have proved to be very popular with attendees. 

In 2005 the Hypnotherapy Award Dinner was launched, held on the Saturday evening of the weekend. This provides the Federation member organisations with an opportunity to honour those whom have given excellent service and/or dedication in some way to their organisation and/or the profession, or because of their own achievements within the field. 

Last year’s conference weekend was one of the largest, and best, ever held. We were honoured to have as Key Note Speaker and guest presenter, Mr Roy Hunter. After collating delegates feedback forms, this was the best ever weekend. Over 99% of them stated the value for money was very good or excellent!
