Call for Presenters: Joint NZAPH NZANLP Conference
Theme: “Expand Your Horizons”
June 17th to 19th,
2011. Kingsgate Hotel, Rotorua
The last Joint Conference that we held in 2009 was
extremely well supported, and feedback that we have had since then has
encouraged us to hold another Joint Conference in 2011.
The format of the Conference next year will be similar
to the last Joint Conference. We will
have "welcome drinks" for those that arrive on the Friday evening. The conference will be formally opened on
Saturday, by the Joint Presidents, followed by the Keynote Speaker (all
attendees) after which we will be running two rooms, giving delegates a choice
of presentation. We have negotiated
really good rates for delegates wishing to stay at the Kingsgate.
On
Sunday, we are having longer sessions – two
workshops are booked for the morning, giving delegates a choice of
presenters. Then in the afternoon we are aiming to have two more
workshops, perhaps two
hours long. The day will end with
"Questions to the Panel" (all those presenters that have opted to stay) and then closing by the Joint Presidents.
The theme of the conference is “Expand Your Horizons”,
encouraging all attendees to expand their map of the world, and their
perceptions and to really enjoy and take on board the wonderful learnings and
new skills and resources that they will gather over the two days. Obviously, the conference will be really
valuable in supporting and developing the membership of both associations, in
networking and supporting members in developing their business and their
skills.
We are asking NLP Master Practitioners and Trainers
and Professional Members of the NZAPH to please give some thought as to how
they can share skills and resources by taking a session, or a
workshop. Session times will be 90 minutes with workshops on the
Sunday afternoon being 2 hours.
Ideally, sessions/workshops will be both interactive with the attendees
and educational, perhaps containing a process or information which is, of
course, "Expanding their Horizons"!
We are delighted to be able to welcome Merv Edmunds
from Australia as our Keynote Speaker.
Merv will also be holding a workshop on Sunday morning on Human
Givens. The other Sunday morning
workshop will be run by Mark Klassen on Spiral Dynamics.
We will be paying
the accommodation and food costs of the presenters, and of course, presenters
won’t need to pay entry fee!

Changes to the Directory of New Zealand Hypnotherapists
For
many years now Hypnosis New Zealand has been openly supporting and
promoting Hypnotherapy and Hypnotherapists in New Zealand via its
regular HYPNOTES Newsletter and Directory of New Zealand
Hypnotherapists. These facilities have provided many New Zealand
Hypnotherapists with free advertising, free promotions and free
referrals.
The
Hypnosis New Zealand Hypnotherapists Directory (that's been freely
provided to any local Hypnotherapist) is now becoming more focused on
Hypnosis New Zealand members (those who've trained with Hypnosis New
Zealand) and Hypnosis New Zealand supporters (those who continue to
openly support Hypnosis New Zealand).
Please check out the new-look Directory of New Zealand Hypnotherapists and note these differences:

All those listees who've trained with Hypnosis New Zealand, have been grouped in the main section of the directory.

Those
who have responded to my email of last week, offering their support for
the Mission Statement and Code of Ethics, have been listed in the main
section as supporters.

Those
who have yet to email me with confirmation of their support for the
Mission Statement and Code of Ethics, are now in the lower section of
the directory with a free one line basic listing. (This will be moved
to the main section and enhanced - on receipt of their support.)

Hypnosis
New Zealand recognises and celebrates Hypnotherapy as a wonderfully
safe and effective natural therapy and supports the choice of each
individual Hypnotherapist to conduct client-focused therapy in either a
similar or a different manner from his/her peers; within New Zealand
laws and the Hypnosis New Zealand Code of Ethics.
Hypnosis New Zealand Hypnotherapists Code of Ethics
- A professional Hypnotherapist must conduct business in a responsible and respectable manner.
- A professional Hypnotherapist must recognise and uphold an obligation to the well-being of the client at all times.
- A
professional Hypnotherapist must always practice techniques and
procedures in accordance with appropriate training and experience.
- A professional Hypnotherapist must maintain safe and hygienic premises of practice.
- A professional Hypnotherapist will not offer any guarantee as to the effectiveness or outcome of any treatment.
- A
professional Hypnotherapist will always keep a client’s personal
details private, unless required to divulge that information by law, or
when any person may be at risk in any way.
Of
course there are a few things I don't personally agree with, or
support, in Hypnotherapy; and they have been naturally omitted from my
MS & COE so as to keep them as positively worded as possible.
So as long as you're not a scaremonger, doom & gloom merchant,
conspiracy theorist, or a controller; then we should get along just
fine as practitioners of a very safe, respected, effective and freely
practiced natural therapy! :)

A Joke from Marty K
(One of my recent students and up-and-coming Hypnotherapist)
A middle-aged married couple had sought the assistance of a hypnotherapist in
dealing with an age-old predicament that many such couples find themselves in at
some time. "He is just not interested in me anymore...as a woman...the magic is
gone...he'd rather read his newspaper...etc.etc."
After what appeared to have
been a very empowering session the couple left with a word that would facilitate
the initiation of all future marital activities -"S-CAR".
A week later the
therapist saw the lady walking down the road with a spring in her step, a
twinkle in her eye and smiling from ear to ear. He/she complimented the lady on
how radiant and happy she now looked.
"Oh yes, we both must thank you for your
kind understanding and advice" replied the lady. "It's now like it was in the
first months we were married. In fact, I probably shouldn't tell you this (tee
hee), but I shall. At last night's dinner, I unintentionally said that "special
word" and, before I knew it, he roared like a bull in heat, dragged me across
the tabletop scattering the plates of food, wine, saucers, knives & plates in
every direction and "rogered" me for half an hour non-stop. It was so
invigorating!"
The therapist expressed his pleasure that the session had
obviously been so successful but suggested that, perhaps, he should have
moderated the suggestions as to the magnitude of her husband's response to that
"special word"?
"No, it's perfectly alright" said the lady. "I just must
remember not to order ESCARGOT's in a French Restaurant.
